TAM-uTAG 1,2 mm

Our identification transponder TAM-uTAG 1.2 mm is a new, non-invasive identification chip that stands out from traditional RFID tags due to its size: 1.20 × 1.20 × 0.55 mm (L × W × H).
Designed for very small animals used in research and clinical trials, it enables identification and tracking. It can also be used to study the social behavior of ants, bees, and many other small animals.

 

 

The TAM-uTAG 1.2 mm Intellibio is a non-injectable identification component that requires no surgical implantation.

Supplied in a small, non-sterile individual pouch with three barcode labels, it is affixed to the animal using a biocompatible adhesive.

It offers a reliable reading distance of up to 10 mm. When placed directly on the small animal, it remains visible, allowing for visual verification of its use.

Its unique and permanent identification number is read by our internally developed uTAG-Reader.

The simple USB uTAG-Reader is convenient: it enables reading and archiving of identifiers. Supplied with software, it also allows export of the reading history to an Excel file.

When activated by the uTAG-Reader, the TAM-uTAG transmits a unique identification number to the tracking software on a standard PC.

The transponder TAM-uTAG is inert, durable, and easy to use. Once applied, the micro-transponder can be quickly read at a workstation where other experimental parameters are recorded. This provides reliable and confident confirmation of the animal’s identity and experimental role throughout its life.

TAM-uTAG offers numerous advantages over conventional marking methods, including:

  • no anesthesia required during tagging or subsequent handling
  • reduced stress for the animal
  • greater system reliability

The TAM-uTAG Intellibio identification system for marking very small animals includes the following two components:

  • 10 × TAM-uTAGs supplied in small individual pouches with three barcode labels (non-sterile)
  • 1 × dedicated uTAG-Reader connected to a PC or laptop equipped with TAM-uTAG software
