This system allows the planning of food intake in rodents in the cage of life over a period of time chosen by the researcher. The software "FASTING PLAN" allows planning periods of fasting on all the cages or independently for each cage or cage group. The programming can be daily, weekly or monthly.

This device includes a removable stainless steel basket mounted on an electronic box.

The assembly is placed on the lid of the stainless steel cage of the animal life. The basket in which the pellets are placed in the manger is part of the lid. The principle is to allow the animal to have access or not to food placed in the basket programming periods of lifting and lowering the basket. The researcher thus allows the animal to eat when he wishes, after study protocol. This system is controlled by computer using software planning period of fasting « FASTING PLAN».

It's consists of an electronic and mechanical cage, a connection box and an electronic interface allowing communication with a PC via a USB connection.

The electronic device of each cage is equipped with a motor and a lever to the rise or lowering of the basket of food.
